The deadline to see an NRCME (National Registry of Certified Medical Examiner) is approaching, May 2014. Currently there are only 25 health care providers in RI that are certified to provide the Medical Cards needed by truck drivers. Check locations at NRCME website: NRCME
All truck drivers who drive a vehicle greater than 10,000 lbs (or combined weight with a trailer over 10,000 lbs) for business purposes and cross state lines must have a medical card. I have heard many stories about gardeners, painters and other small business persons driving a truck with a trailer being pulled over by state police. Don't wait, get your Medical Card now.
